Our little learners have been exploring colour through play, using bristle blocks to sort, build and experiment while developing their fine-motor skills, problem-solving and spatial awareness.
We also enjoyed Colour and Me! by Michaela Dias-Hayes, celebrating our differences and talking about what makes each of us unique.

The Gruffalo – Exploring the Deep, Dark Wood!
We’re getting ready to celebrate National Read a Book Day and International Literacy Day at Monkey Puzzle Streatham Common! 📚
Throughout September, we’ll be celebrating the joy of books, reading and storytelling but these are things we enjoy every day at nursery.
Inspired by ‘The Gruffalo’ our children explored the deep, dark wood through sensory and imaginative small-world play. Using natural materials, pine cones and homemade playdough creations, they recreated characters and elements from the story while developing their imagination, creativity, language and storytelling skills.
Because sometimes, the best stories don’t just stay on the page, they come to life through play! 💛

Meet Adria, our Deputy Manager at Monkey Puzzle Streatham Common! 💛
With a degree in Primary Education, as well as experience in finance and management, Adria brings a range of skills in leadership, organisation and supporting teams to her role in Early Years.
Throughout her career, her passion has always been working with children. She believes the early years provide an important foundation for children’s confidence, development and future learning, and loves being able to create positive and meaningful experiences for the children she works with.
Adria is excited to continue learning and growing in her role, while supporting the children and the team at Streatham Common.
Outside of nursery, Adria loves travelling, exploring new places and trying different foods from around the world. She enjoys experiencing different cultures and making new memories along the way.

We had a lovely INSET Day last week, bringing our West Norwood and Streatham Common teams together 💛
From Sheena and our senior leadership team, to our operations team and practitioners across both nurseries, it was a chance to step away from the day-to-day, spend time together, share ideas and learn from one another.
